Keeping strawberries fresh

To keep strawberries fresh (or other red fruit) do not let them sit in their packs. When they are piled up they ripen quickly and go bad. The best thing is to scatter the strawberries on a teatowel lined in a hollow dish and to fold back the towel onto them. It absorbs the moisture given off by the fruit and thus they will keep better.
