Ergonomic studies showed that a knife in a hand was rather oriented vertically ahead between thumb and index, and horizontally behind between the baby finger and the palm of the hand. From that fact, the Porsche design team designed this knife where handle and blade are perpendicular to each other. This requires the adding of a "pearl" to prevent the proximity of the blade, which improves the touch of the knife. Manufactured from a japonese specially engineered steel called "Type 301", this knife is sharpened in factory so that its blade lasts longer than conventional knives. We recommend the use of a sharpening stone if worn.
