Green Vegetable dishes

Spinach Ball
  • For : 6 servings

For this recipe, you need :

  • 1 kg fresh spinach
  • 100 g grated cheese
  • 100 g stale white bread crumbs
  • 40 g butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • bread crumbs
  • salt
  • pepper

Technical Stages :

  • Wash the spinach leaves a couple of times. Blanch for 5 minutes in simmering salted water and dip them in a refroidissante to refresh them and fix the color.
  • Drain and press with your hands to get rid of a maximum of water. Chop coarsely. Soak the white bread in a bid of warm water and crush it to make a dough. Add salt, pepper, and mix with the spinach. Add the eggs one by one and 75 g grated cheese.
  • Slightly grease a pie pan. Put the spinach in it and shape it into a dome (to mimic a ball).
  • Sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese and a bit of bread crumbs.
  • Bake for 220 or 428°F minutes at low temperature (150°C or 302°F).
