Apple Fritters

Ingredients for Apple Fritters :

  • 4 apples
  • caster sugar
  • frying (oil)
  • Batter:
  • 250 g flour
  • 2 eggs or 4 yolks
  • 50 g butter
  • 100 g milk
  • 150 g beer
  • 10 g baker's yeast
  • 5 g salt
  • 4 egg whites

In a bowl, place the flour in fountain. Add salt, diluted yeast in warm milk, and the eggs. Mix using a whisk by adding the flour little by little until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Add the beer and mix until just combined.

Add melted butter and leave the batter to rest 30 minutes to 1 hour in room temperature.

Beat the egg whites stiff...

...and delicately add them to the batter.

Heat the frying oil. Meanwhile, peel, seed and slice the apples.

Pass them into the batter...

...and dip them in hot oil.

Fry the fritters on both sides until they obtain a nice gold colour.
