Technical stages for Chili con carne :
- Soak the beans in cold water for 12 hours.
- Drain them and place them in a stewpan. Cover with cold water.
- Bring to a boil and drain immediately.
- Place them in the stewpan again, cover with water once again and cook them for a good hour on medium heat.
- Meanwhile, the onions and dice the red pepper. Chop the garlic.
- In a frying pan, heat a bit of oil.
- Add vegetables and them for a few minutes.
- Add chopped meat and cook it by shredding it using a fork.
- Once beans are cooked, drain them and place back in the stewpan. Add the meat and vegetables mixture.
- Add tomatoes that have been previousely , seeded, and crushed, the bouquet garni, spices and salt. Add a large glass of water and leave to cook covered for about 30 minutes. Check cooking!
- Serve very hot.
