Jams & Chutneys

Pear jam
  • For : About 1,5 kg jam
  • Time : 6 hours + 50 minutes
  • Difficulty : easy

For this recipe, you need :

  • 1,2 kg pears
  • 800 g sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon + zest
  • 1 vanilla bean

Technical Stages :

Prepare all the ingredients.

Peel the pears...

...and cut them into tiny pieces.

Add the lemon juice...

... and sugar.

Mix thoroughly using a wooden spatula.

Add the split vanilla bean and leave to macerate several hours until sugar is completely dissolved.

Once the sugar is melted, place the preparation in a saucepan.

Heat the saucepan...

...and bring to a boil.

Cook until the temperature of the mixture is around 105°C - 110°C.

When finished...

... fill the jars with the hot jam.

Lock the jars with their lids.

Place them up side down to cool.
