Party bread
2/3: Making the sandwiches

For this recipe, you need :

  • 1 large champagne cork shaped country bread loaf weighing 1 kg (made the night before)
  • 200 g sheep's cheese
  • 2 slices ham
  • 2 or 4 slices of Bayonne ham
  • 200 g soft butter
  • 200 g roquefort butter
  • 1 ribbon

Main Points :

  • Butter 6 or 8 slices (leaving two un-buttered).
  • Slice the cheese thinly.
  • Place the Bayonne ham, ham, and sheep's cheese on buttered bread slices. Butter the last slices with roquefort butter.
  • Place each slice on top of each other to make a sandwich.
  • Cut the sandwich tower into quarters lengthwise.
  • Rebuild the loaf arranging each layer with the 4 varieties.
