For this recipe, you need :

  • white almond paste
  • cornstarch

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Form a well mixed and homogeneous ball with the almond paste.

Flour the counter with cornstarch. Roll out the almond paste lengthwise.

Get rid of any excess cornstarch with a brush.

Remove from the bench woth a metallic spatula. Cut a strip.

Crush the end with a rolling pin to make it thinner.

Do the same on the opposite end.

Roll both ends.

The first end on one side and the second one on the other side.

With a culinary torch, brown the sides to give an ancient look to it. Beware not to burn it too much.

Let dry for a couple of days on the table. With a royal icing filled icing bag, you can add a text realted to the event you prepared it for (ie "Happy Birthday").
