Halloween Witch Pie

Ingredients for Halloween Witch Pie :

  • 750 g peeled pumpkin
  • 250 g shortcrust dough
  • 60 g pecans + 8 halves
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • icing sugar

Technical stages for Halloween Witch Pie :

  • Cut the pumpkin in quite fine pieces.
  • Place the pieces in a saucepan with 2 tsp water, sugar and one pinch salt.
  • Cook 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Roll out the shortcrust dough.
  • Line a pie shell, prick the bottom with a fork or a docker and Prebake for about 15 minutes.
  • Blend the pumpkin along with its cooking juice.
  • Add the vanilla sugar, chopped pecan's and the eggs.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Pour this preparation in the prebaked pie shell.
  • Bake in hot oven (180°C) for about 35 minutes.
  • When finished, sprinkle with icing sugar and decorate using the remaining pecan halves.
