Prepare all the ingredients.
Cut the pumpkin in quite fine pieces.
Place the pieces in a saucepan with 2 tsp water, sugar and one pinch salt.
Cook 20 to 25 minutes.

...for about 15 minutes.
Blend the pumpkin along with its cooking juice.
Add the vanilla sugar, chopped pecan's and the eggs.
Mix thoroughly.
Pour this preparation in the prebaked pie shell.
Bake in hot oven (180°C) for about 35 minutes.
When finished, sprinkle with icing sugar and decorate using the remaining pecan halves.
