Laced Tiles

Prepare all the ingredients, weighing the exact quantities.

Mix all the ingredients together. Add a drop of red food ink to give a nicer coloration (optional).

Let it rest in the fridge for a few hours.

Bake on a reusable baking paper (for sale in shop specialized for cooking businesses).

I tried to bake those on regular baking paper (found in every supermarket), and the result is excellent. Therefore, if you don't have special baking paper, use a regular one. Put on the baking sheet nut-sized clusters of dough. Do not spread. Do not bake the tiles right on the baking sheet, you could not get them off it. Even on a buttered one!!!

Bake in warm oven (180°C or 356°F) until golden.

The dough will spread itself and bubbles will appear.

Bake until desired coloration is reached.

When finished...

...slide the baking paper on the cold counter and let cool. The cold temperature of the counter will solidify the tiles. You can't skip that part if you want to unmold perfectly. Remove the tiles. You can keep them for a few days in a sealed container.

Same as on picture #10, but this time with regular baking paper. You can shape those tiles with a semi cylinder, like the lemon tiles. Shape them while they are still malleable, therefore warm.

Without baking paper this recipe is simply impossible. The dough is too fragile when you take it out of the oven, thus you can't remove the tiles cleanly. But you can still give it a try.

The cold tile is very fragil and full of little holes. Thus its name. Manipulate cautiously.
